BoltStream
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 26 September 2026
This policy covers the BoltStream apps for Android phones and Android TV, the web app at app.boltstream.co.in, and this website. It explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.
1. Your account (optional)
Signing in is optional. If you create an account, we store:
- Email and password, if you sign up with email. Passwords are stored by our sign-in provider in hashed form; we never see them.
- Your name and email address from Google, if you choose “Continue with Google”. We ask Google only for basic profile information (name, email). We don't use your Google profile picture; you pick an avatar inside the app.
- Your profile choices: the avatar you pick and the genres or languages you told us you like, used to arrange the home screen.
2. What you watch
- Continue Watching and My List. The titles you watch or save, and how far you got, are kept on your device. If you're signed in, they are also saved to your account so they appear on your other devices. They are visible only to you.
- Playback reports. When a video starts or fails to start, the app records the title (and season and episode), an error description if it failed, the connection type (for example Wi-Fi or mobile data, and the mobile network's name on Android), and the app version. These reports are not linked to your account and are used only to find and fix titles that don't play.
3. Things you send us
- Title requests. If you ask for a title to be added, we store the request with your account so we can see who asked.
- “Wrong title” reports. If you report that the wrong video played, we store which title and which upload it was, so it can be corrected for everyone.
4. Analytics
We use Google Analytics (on this website) and Firebase Analytics (in the apps) to count visitors and active users and to see which features are used, such as how many streams start. These services collect information such as device type, general location (country or city), and app or page activity, using device identifiers or cookies. If you're signed in, the apps also give Firebase your account's internal ID (a random code, not your name or email), so one person on several devices is counted once. Google's own privacy policy applies to that processing. We also count which in-app promotions are shown and tapped, without linking that to your account.
5. Where your data is kept
- Accounts, watch lists, requests and reports are stored with Supabase, our database and sign-in provider.
- Analytics data is processed by Google (Google Analytics and Firebase).
- Movie and series information and artwork come from TMDB. To show pictures, your device requests them from TMDB and from an image service, which see your IP address as with any website.
- On the web app, videos are delivered through our own relay servers so they can play in a browser. The relays pass the video to you and keep no record of what you watch.
6. What we don't do
- We don't sell or rent your personal information.
- We don't take payments or store any payment details.
- We don't read your contacts, photos, messages or files.
7. Your choices
- Use it without an account. Everything except syncing your lists works signed out.
- Clear your history. You can remove titles from Continue Watching and My List in the app at any time.
- Delete your account. Email us from the address on your account and we will delete it together with your watch lists, profile and requests within 30 days.
8. Children
BoltStream is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will also be announced in the app.
